Rhino-Rack's Mark Janssan has been helping 4WDers find the best Rhino-Rack gear and accessories to get the most out of their adventure. We caught up with Mark to find out how he 'makes space for adventure', his favourite spot in South Australia, and how Rhino-Rack complements his own adventures.
4WDing lets you go to the great unknown and gets you off the beaten track. Having a 4WD opens up a world of adventure as it allows you to explore remote and lesser-known spots that can only be accessed with a 4WD.
Without a doubt the Flinders Ranges in outback South Australia. It's located 500kms, or a 5-hour drive, from Adelaide. Spectacular views, great camping spots and plenty of 4WDing tracks.
Absolutely. There are a number of campsites and stations depending on your experience, budget and accommodation type. Wilpena Pound Campground offers powered and unpowered campsites, with options to also book rooms and safari tents. Rawnsley Park Station and Skytrek Willow Springs Station are other well-known spots offering self-contained accommodation and campsites.
The views and wildlife are something else. If you are still undecided on whether to visit the Flinders Ranges, the only way to know whether you'll love it or not is to go. You won't regret it.
Rhino-Rack products are unparalleled. They’re purpose-built, fit easily, and make carrying your gear easy. Integral to my journey, I have the Rhino-Rack Sunseeker Awning that provides plenty of shade for those summer and rainy days. and the Pioneer Platform fitted with load-securing accessories which allows me to carry my shovel and recovery tracks.
There are lots of things I could maybe go without, but I definitely cannot go without my coffee machine.
Pack what is going to make your trip the best trip you’ve done so far. And, as we say at Rhino-Rack, Make Space for Adventure!
